Horaa Osbao Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ cup of lentils
  • ½ cup of pasta
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • A handful of chopped coriander


Preparation Method

  1. Boil the lentils with four cups of water, and pinch of salt in a medium pot, on medium heat. Leave it for around 20 minutes
  2. Add lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, and pasta. You can add black pepper, cumin and ground coriander, and leave them for around 15 minutes until the paste is soft
  3. With 1 tablespoon of olive oil, sauté onions until they are golden brown, and add it to the lentils
  4. On medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to minced garlic and a handful of chopped coriander. Leave it until it is soft, for less than 5 minutes
  5. Pour it over the lentil and serve it hot. Garnish with coriander if you wish
