Before you dig into the main Iftar meal, enjoy this Horaa Osbao Recipe as an appetizer. It is a crowd-pleasing recipe that will leave you satisfied.
Horaa Osbao Recipe Ingredients
- ½ cup of lentils
- ½ cup of pasta
- 4 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon dried coriander
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- A handful of chopped coriander
Preparation Method
- Boil the lentils with four cups of water, and pinch of salt in a medium pot, on medium heat. Leave it for around 20 minutes
- Add lemon juice, pomegranate molasses, and pasta. You can add black pepper, cumin and ground coriander, and leave them for around 15 minutes until the paste is soft
- With 1 tablespoon of olive oil, sauté onions until they are golden brown, and add it to the lentils
- On medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to minced garlic and a handful of chopped coriander. Leave it until it is soft, for less than 5 minutes
- Pour it over the lentil and serve it hot. Garnish with coriander if you wish
