Productive or Wet Cough

Productive or Wet Cough

The cough season is just around the corner; Prospan® wishes you a safe turn around all the way to autumn and throughout winter.

We suggest below a number of ways in which you can prepare yourself and boost your immune system!

Productive cough can be caused due to number of factors. Some of them are viral, like in the case of a common cold, others can be more serious like asthma, and there are other conditions like bronchitis.

Unfortunately, some regular habits could also lead to productive cough, such as smoking.

All these factors could cause more phlegm production and accumulation in the lungs. This causes alveoli’s elasticity to decrease, so it won’t perform its role optimally, causing our bodies to cough frequently, to get rid of the extra phlegm.

Basically, you should never suppress productive or wet cough, because it is your body’s mechanism to drive the phlegm out. Know more about your cough.

Consult with your doctor about your cough, especially if you have shortness of breath, fever, and bloody expectoration.
